The Challenge

SimpliGov was in the middle of redefining itself.

Across state and local government, the pressure on program teams keeps rising while the infrastructure underneath the work has fallen behind. Most agencies still coordinate the old-fashioned way: handwritten approvals, spreadsheet tracking, documents buried in email threads. Handoffs disappear. Approvals sit untouched. Knowledge walks out the door the moment someone leaves. And constituents feel it. A veteran waits on a benefit. A family gets silence on housing support. A case stalls because the one person who understood it took another job.

SimpliGov built a new core narrative around exactly that gap, along with a refreshed identity and a campaign called "Built to Run." What they needed was a site that could carry it.

The existing site described features rather than the problem those features solve, and it couldn't support the range of audiences SimpliGov reaches: state agencies, local agencies, and program teams across a dozen different functions. There was also a volume problem. Nearly a decade of content lived on the old site. Blog posts, case studies, white papers, eBooks, webinars. All of it had to come across without losing the SEO equity behind it.

Our Approach

We started with structure. The site needed to work for a program director in licensing, a CIO evaluating platforms, and a procurement lead running a comparison, all of whom arrive with different questions. We built the information architecture around solutions rather than features, organized across constituent services, internal operations, and process improvement, so every audience has a path that speaks to their actual work.

From there, 48 unique page templates designed in Figma and built in Webflow.

The visual direction extends SimpliGov's refreshed identity into the web experience. The logo didn't change, and shouldn't have. The "V," the same V in "Gov," has meant movement and follow-through since the company started. What we built on was the workflow motif behind it: a recurring line showing one step moving into the next.

We brought that to life through custom animation, taking the connected node element from the identity system and putting it in motion across the site. The palette leans into gradients with rich blues and purples, signaling AI capability without pushing so far into experimental territory that it stops feeling like SimpliGov. That balance mattered. Government buyers evaluate on credibility first.

Custom illustration runs throughout the site, built as a system rather than one-off assets, so the team has a visual language that holds up as new pages go live.

On the back end, we configured CMS collections across every content type SimpliGov publishes, then migrated 190+ pages with redirects and an SEO-ready structure. The result is a system their three-person marketing team runs without a developer.

The Final Point

SimpliGov launched the new site alongside "Built to Run," a campaign positioning the platform as the operations layer government runs on. For the first time, the narrative, the identity, and the site all say the same thing.

The site covers 48 templates across platform, solutions, and company pages, with a CMS built so the team can keep expanding as new agency use cases come up. Interactive product demos let government teams walk through the platform step by step before ever talking to sales.

"What impressed us most was their ability to translate our story into something people could actually see, connecting what we say to what the platform does, clearly and honestly," said Samantha Wagner, VP of Marketing at SimpliGov.

We built the site for where SimpliGov is going, not just where it was. Good to see it landing that way.
